Welcome to Isabella Plains Primary School
Principal’s Message
November 2008
I am absolutely delighted to have been appointed as principal of the Early Childhood School in Isabella Plains. I am looking forward to working with students, parents, staff and community agencies in providing learning and development programs which cater for children aged birth to eight years and their families.
At Isabella Plains Early Childhood School, we will:
-
Ensure programs consider the whole child, including their academic, social, health and well being needs
-
Work with children as a part of a family unit – working in collaboration to provide the very best learning and development programs possible.
-
Implement learning and development programs based on research in the areas of brain development and play based learning.
-
Focus on literacy, numeracy, science and the arts.
-
Provide childcare services for children aged birth to 4 years.
-
Operate 15 hour a week preschool programs for children aged 4 years.
-
Provide kindergarten, year one and year two educational programs for children aged 5 to 8 years.
-
Offer before and after preschool care / before and after school care and vacation care for children aged 4 to 8 years.
-
Organise family based programs including playgroups and parent workshops.
-
Make possible access to health and community services.
Services will grow as community needs are established. A Community Coordinator will be employed to facilitate community and family programs from the beginning of 2009. Other staff will be announced soon and a community picnic planned to enable children, parents and staff to meet.
It is pleasing that enrolments are strong and parents are keen to be involved with the development of the school, as we plan and prepare for the first day of school, Monday 2 February 2009. The childcare program will also begin on this date and names are still being taken for places in 2009.
Renovations are progressing well, with stage two about to begin. It is expected that the majority of buildings will be completed by the end of January with a few due for completion in March 2009. These renovations will not interfere with the learning and development programs of children.
I look forward to working with the Isabella Plains community in building Isabella Plains early Childhood School into a quality learning and development centre that provides quality learning programs, integrated service delivery as well as parent support and partnerships.
If you have further questions, or would like to enroll your child, please contact the school on 6205 7688.
